Summary/ Objective:

Goal of this position is to sell and contract minimal guest rooms with meeting space and food and beverage revenue.  To be successful in this position, the candidate must be able to adapt to the changes in the industry and specifically their market to reach and exceed their sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Selling:

  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Book small groups (10 rooms or less) for corporate meetings, religious retreats, etc.
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitors.
  • Create strategic action plans to attract and retain business.
  • Utilize various outreach methods: calls, emails, social media, site tours, and networking events.

Planning and Coordination:

  • Use tools like Delphi, Salesforce, Host, and Microsoft Office effectively.
  • Collect accurate event details for Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Ensure smooth communication between clients and banquet teams.
  • Meet deadlines for event details, payment, and internal communication.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Participate in the Manager on Duty (MOD) shift as scheduled.
  • Maintain professionalism and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure accuracy in proposals, contracts, and BEOs.
  • Follow accounting procedures for billing and payments.
  • Assist with event coordination and resolve client issues.
  • Stay responsive to client communication.

Trade Shows/Networking:

  • Represent Turf Valley Resort at trade shows and industry events.

Teamwork and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Maintain professional communication and address internal conflicts respectfully.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or 2-year degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of Convention Services Manager experience.
